Vancouver Airport

Description: There will be three stations constructed along the Airport segment of the Canada Line, with an additional station planned for a future date. The airport segment of the Canada Line will be constructed at-grade for 1.7km (from east of YVR 1 to west of YVR 2), with the rest being elevated.

Locations: There will be an elevated guideway west across the southern approach ramp of the Arthur Laing Bridge, around the north side of the Sea Island Interchange where the at-grade segment starts under a new Templeton Road overpass, then west to just before Connector #2 where the track rises to finish as an elevated guideway at YVR terminal. The three YVR stations will be:
  • YVR 1: Grauer Lands
  • YVR 2: Connector #3/ Grant McConachie Way
  • YVR Terminal: International Terminal/Domestic Terminal

Impacts: There will be active construction along the Airport Line for multiple months in any one spot. There will be minor impacts to travellers and local traffic, including truck traffic, and some noise and dust. Vehicle access will be maintained throughout construction, although there will be some lane reductions, which may cause slowdowns along the route.
